Focused on movement building for fundamental change, our mission is to build healthy communities by changing the power relationships between people of color and the institutional structures that affect their lives.

Roots and remedies is our annual gathering connecting organizers, activists, advocates, elected officials and committed, big picture thinkers like you in an action space where we build, plot and connect the dots between issues, movements and each other. Want to find out how you can attend? Email us at Scholarships are available.

Last year, nearly 300 participants attended the inaugural Roots & Remedies
gathering in New Orleans. Together, we surfaced emerging and best practices
and policies that bridged critical issues like food sovereignty, the right and
reclamation of public spaces, improving public schools, protecting human
rights, increasing human mobility and more. The end goal was to deepen our
shared analysis of root causes and elevate practice and policies -remedies -
as part of an inclusive framework that helps us forge common ground, and
identify shared points of collaboration and action.

We expect Roots & Remedies 2 to have the same vibrant, diverse and
intergenerational mix. We will also host opportunities to visit great work
happening on the ground as well as feature some of San Antonio’s amazing local culture.
