Scientists of Camaguey, Cuba Produce New Organic Mineral Fertilizer from the aqueous extract of earthworm Humus/ Producen científicos camagüeyanos nuevo fertilizante organomineral

Via Oscar Parrado, CUBA- A group of scientists belonging to the Soil Institute, UCTB Camagüey, created a liquid organomineral fertilizer from the aqueous extract of the earthworm humus, enriched with essential mineral elements. The organic fertilizer is applied by folear route, that is to say on the foliage of the plants, stimulates the development and growth of the crops and complements the bottom fertilization in soils of medium to low productivity.

Rafael Barroso Grasa, an agronomist and specialist in soil fertility and plant nutrition at the aforementioned institution, explained to Adelante Digital that the project was initiated in 2017 and the first tests were carried out with about thirty producers in the municipalities of Sierra de Cubitas and Minas, where increases in productive yields were achieved by up to 20% and in rice one ton more per hectare.
