Earlier last year, 2020, I published an article on the use of Organic Artemisia, common name wormwood, an herb, to treat and prevent the novel Coronavirus in SubSaharan Africa. First, in April 2020, Madagascar's President Andry Rajoelina promoted a herbal treatment made from the Artemisia annua plant produced in the country called Covid-Organics. Madagascar is an island nation off the coast of East Africa. Nonetheless, African governments bought and distributed the product.
Today, 17, October 2021, Sub Saharan African countries including Madagascar,
except for southern African countries, South Africa and Botswana, continue to have
some of the lowest rates of COVID in the world. Has the use of artemisia
annua played a role in SubSaharan Africa’s low rates of coronavirus?

Subsequently, however, researchers at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam, Germany found that the leaves of Artemisia Annua extract showed anti-Coronavirus
viral activity after being extracted with pure ethanol or distilled water.

better as a derivative, and that adding coffee increased the antiviral activity,"

Other researchers are concerned that widespread use of A. annuaherbal extracts could bolster drug resistant strains of malaria parasites such
as Plasmodium falciparumFor people living in regions where malaria is endemic, exposure to subtherapeutic
doses of artemisinin in A. annuamay be enough to kill off some of the parasites in their bodies, but not all of
them. Clearing out weakling parasites leaves more room for drug-resistant
siblings to proliferate, rendering vital ACTs ineffective. “It’s kind of a Darwiniaeffect,” says Karen I. Barnes of the University of Cape Town, who leads the Collaborating Centre for
Optimising Antimalarial Therapy.
However, after a quick search, well into our second year of COVID, I found no study confirming these concerns that the widespread use of A. Annua had increased malaria in SubSaharan Africa. As well, for those not living in regions of the world where there is malaria however, who are faced with the ever adapting COVID pandemic obviously, this is not a concern.

Says our truly divine brother, Mathews Mpofu, “When European missionaries and colonists came to Africa one thing they did wrong was to demonize African religions and our herbal medicines.” Matthews continues, “Our medicine men and women were regarded as wizards and witches and even killed. Today, however, the west is discovering and widely using traditional African herbal medicines, he says. “Permaculture also,” he continues, “encourages indigenous wisdom in regeneratively using our locally available resources. In our local Gathengera Practical Permaculture Center in Malawi,” says Matthews, “we fully support herbal medicine by increasing and preserving plant diversity and sharing our ancient herbal wisdom and beyond.”

To use organic artemisia annua to treat Covid 19I followed the instructions on the container of the organic artemisia
annua I purchased from Siyah Organics here in the USA. It instructed to
pour 8 oz boiling purified water
over 1 tsp herb, steep 5 to 10 minutes. I personally used
it myself for just three or four days when I got my Covid vaccination to fight
any symptoms of Covid that might
arise with vaccination! It was very strong and powerful, and also a little relaxing/pleasant!!! I was shocked that a little green herb
like that could pack so much punch. I can see how it would be very effective
against the virus after just this little experience!!!!
Matthews also recommended organic passion/ granadilla leaves tea
or rosemary tea to
treat anxiety due to Covid. I have not tried that yet. It was sold out on line!
But I found it at my local natural foods store recently and will try it soon.
