(English/Spanish) 10-15 October 2022. The Cuban Institute of Animal Science
(ICA), the Indio Hatuey Pasture and Forage Experimental Station (EEPFIH) and the
Cuban Association of Animal Production (ACPA) (All are leaders in their field.
The Indio Hautey Pasture and Forage Experimental Station does some of the best
agroecological work in Cuba and consequently receives significant support from the Carribean Agroecology Institute, home of the Cuba-USA Agroecology Network and led by the super amazing Dr. Magarita Fernandez!!! The Indio Hautey agroecological team is right now in France on an agroecological exchange with French agroecologists.)
The VII International Congress of Tropical Animal Production, Agrodevelopment 2022, the IX International Meeting of Young Farmers (INTERJOVEN 2022), the VII American Congress of Cuniculture, organized jointly with the American Branch of the World Rabbit Science Association and the II International Symposium will be held in coordination with the Center for Research on Sustainable Systems of Agricultural Production of Cali (CIPAV), Colombia.
The following general topics will be addressed:
1. Livestock and environment
2. Pastures, fodder and other crops
3. Food, additives and bio-inputs
4. Nutrition, management, genetics and reproduction
5. Animal health and welfare
6. Agroenergy and circular economy
7. Bioinformatics, biostatistics and socioeconomics
8. Innovation, territorial development and social equity
9. Agroecology and sustainable way of life
We hope to have your presence and make you part of the fruitful exchange that will
undoubtedly arise.
(USA funding may be available for American groups who wish to attend from
the Christopher Reynolds Foundation which supports USA-Cuban exchanges with
the goal of ending the US led trade embargo against Cuba. Cuba also has had
much more success than we have had in the US in controlling the COVID
pandemic. (97% of the Cuban population down to 2 years old have been
vaccinated according to a recent Cuban News Source. In general Cubans have
much better health statistics and live longer than we Americans. There is a
much greater emphasis on health in their society. The success of their
health care system is legendary and recognized worldwide. Consequently,
many Cuban doctors work worldwide to support many other countries
with the development of their health system and providing basic medical care.
Many of Cuba's agroecologists also serve abroad!))
