Hoy PIAL-IV-Matanzas visitó la Finca La Palma en el Consejo Popular El Roque en Perico. La familia Sánchez-Bárzaga demuestran que es posible producir leche, carne, y productos del agro bajo principios y prácticas agroecológicas. Y sin químicos, con empleos de bioproductos cuidar el ambiente y elevar las producciones.
Allí la leche que se acopia, es muestreada para determinar indicadores de calidad de este producto con manos de mujer. Los hombres se dedican a la agricultura y a la producción ganadera, por sólo reportarles cada día el productor acopia cómo promedio 137 litros de leche a la Empresa de Productos Lácteos y Confiterías.
Brichel (joven entrevistado, hijo de esta familia campesina) reconoce el potencial del IHPLUS y del BIOCHAR , dos productos que recibe de la Estación Experimental Indio Hatuey a través del servicio científico-técnico y que emplea en la agricultura y ganadería integrada, con beneficios en el rendimiento, la salud de plantas y animales, en la calidad del suelo y del ambiente.
Allí, en tierras antes no ocupadas por cultivos agrícolas pude observar importantes producciones de maíz, aguacate, guayaba. Estas producciones contribuyen al autoabastecimiento local. (English) 07/16/20 Today PIAL-IV-Matanzas visited Finca La Palma at the El Roque Popular Council in Perico.
The Sánchez-Bárzaga family demonstrate that it is possible to produce milk, meat, and agricultural products under agroecological principles and practices. And without chemicals, using bioproducts to take care of the environment and increase production.
There, the milk that is collected is sampled to determine quality indicators of this product with the hands of a woman. The men are dedicated to agriculture and livestock production, just by reporting each day the producer collects an average of 137 liters of milk to the Dairy Products and Confectioneries Company.
Brichel (young interviewee, son of this peasant family) recognizes the potential of IHPLUS and BIOCHAR, two products that he receives from the Indio Hatuey Experimental Station through the scientific-technical service and that he uses in integrated agriculture and livestock, with benefits in performance, plant and animal health, soil and environmental quality.
There, in lands not previously occupied by agricultural crops, I was able to observe important productions of corn, avocado, and guava. These productions contribute to local self-sufficiency. Marvin RObinson!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your appreciation!!!! All praise to the higher power!!!!!!! It is very encouraging to me and all we work with in Cuba and the USA!!!!!! Now is the time to work to end the US led trade embargo against CUba and all discrimantion against our Cuban neighbors. This essentially "war" on CUba was started after the Cuban people organized themselves to oust the US colonial power from rule in thier country. First there were very peacefull and agrairian indigenous people in Cuba. Then came the Spanish who killed many but many also fled to the moutains for safety and many more others mixed in with the Spanish or had children with Spanish forcibly. Free Black African descendants also came to CUba from Spain from the beginning of Spanish contact with Cuba. Subsequently, the Spanish brought Black Africans to Cuba to work as enslaved people. Many many more Black Africans were brought than Spanish came. Many fled enslavement for the mountains as did many indigenous people as well!!!! My understanding of this history is not exact. Both these black African descendants and Indigenous people formed a people known today as Cimarrones. Freed people living in the mountains of CUBA successfully resisting slavery. Eventually with the help of the USA, Cuban society, led by its Spanish descendants, kicked Spain out and formed thier own country!!!
ReplyDeleteBecause of what happened in Haiti, the ousting of the "white" EUropean descendants and possible a massacre of the whites as well (I have to research this!!!!) the "white" or more accurately "light skin" or SPanish descendants were very concerned about the same thing happening in Cuba and so their soceity became more oppressive of Black and indigenous CUbans. At this time and still today, the myth is perpetuated that the Spanish killed all the indigenous people and all the brown skin people in Cuba are of direct African descent but this is not true and DNA and just looking shows both CUba's large population of indigenous and Black African descendants. After the USA helped Cubans kick out thier Spanish colonial master, the US supported a very brutal elite regime in CUBA. It was horrendous!!! Dead bodies everywhere!!!!! ANd no accountability. This insanity was the root of the CUban revolution which rules CUba today. With fierceness they managed to oust thier US backed colonial ruler and form thier own government. The USSR supported them in the face of imperialist in essence US agression. In retaliation the US launched a trade embargo against Cuba and took other agressive actions which are still in place today. There is no justification for this trade embargo or other retaliation against Cuba for ousting a brutal US backed dictator and many Americans are calling for an end to this embargo and normalizing trade realtions with Cuba. The elite CUbans who supported the US backed regime in Cuba fled to the USA when the revolution was successfull and sadly continue to make war against Cuba today. When the USSR collapsed CUba was dependent upon them for almost everything. That is when thier amazing Food SOvereignty/ Agroecology MOvement started. It is small but growing and mighty and sew butafulll and isnpiring. I have visted so many farms and gardens and research stations et al. there and volunteered on a farm there and so enjoy and love and have learned from thier work and culture!!!!!!! IN the end they are people just like us doing some beautifull work transforming how we grow our food and waht we eat that the world really needs!!! Fortunately they worked with thier government to get thier government's support for this transformation of thier agriculture system which is a work in progress. THANKYOU!!!!!!
